MY CLOSING
I AM PISSED!
I think that is the consensus around here nowadays. I wonder if that is the only emotion I am capable of feeling every time I decide to come on. I am sick and tired of it all. Everytime a fresh batch of new fans (whom i shall refer to as "n00b" from here on forth) arrive, I fear the loss of resources. I am not wrong in thinking that. I have seen it reoccur in the last few years, one time too many. And whatever that is happening in Youtube is just another indication.
- Understand that the files do not belong to you
- Understand that the uploader of the original file has rules
- Understand that by breaking such rules you are depriving not only yourself but everyone else of new files
For overseas fans, we do not have the luxury of watching the shows real time in clarity nor do those streaming tv programmes (which is just a recent development) work all time. We would always want the files so that we can watch, rewatch and rewind 1000x times. "Sharing is caring" - well not in this fandom. Certain things are not meant to be shared openly. Especially video files. Uploaders do not want credit because they do not want to be caught. But like every big operation, if you ask the right question, you will be shown the way to the hidden room at the back.
Cutting clips is one thing but sharing links to full episodes in a public forum or a supposed locked post that can be viewed through a search in google, you might as well make a banner in bright, bold, red letters with an arrow indicating "AM I STUPID ENOUGH FOR YOU?". Please use a little of your brain to think before you do anything more stupid.
Uploading to public streaming sites, that is another common idiotic n00b mistake. While I am sure many are thankful that their first knowledge of Arashi comes from Youtube, look at who decided to play catching now. N00bs need to understand that "Johnny & Associates" is unlike any other company out there.
Firstly, they are located in Japan; a place where privacy is everything, where technology is rampant, where majority of the people still thinks that the country should NEVER have or be open up to the rest of the world. "Johnny's" is not some small stepping stone but a corporation that has been around for years and they are so xenophobic that they make Superman look like a wimp and they protect everything with an ironclad grip.
Calling the company names only make you look like a bitter old hag if you do not have the finance or status to back it up with. They are the ones in control while we are merely the pawns that they can overlook as long as we do not cause trouble. But they are definitely NOT stupid because they know the outside world is slowly invading and that is why they are cutting us off without a thought.
I have never felt the need to close my files to friends and family only but from the looks of it, it might be best.

owh my smart little friend.. you make me look up what xenophobic means.
♥
there's also that little thing of japan banning their own users who shared stuff online. its a dangerous thing to even "share". people might still be optimistic of the situation but something got to give eventually. just cherish every little source that's left out there... protect them.
The only thing that I don't get is why JE is so strict with this... While I understand them wanting to stop the sharing of things you can buy, I don't get the need to control EVERYTHING... I mean, the sales CLEARLY went up with the international fans chipping in...
It's hard to understand that Johnny's keeping everything so much under control, especially when you are new to the Fandom. But I hope the newies will learn fast, so we can keep low profile and our sources want be cut!
Thanks for this post! Because you are saying what's in my mind sometime now.
